Is the Playstation 3 truely the most expensive gaming console known to man… The answer hell no far from it.. here is a breakdown
PS3 = $499 (the one I bought. though got it alot cheaper at Circuit City going out of Business Sale) this is my second PS3 as my youngest son (just turned 2) crammed 3 games into the drive breaking it. So bought a new one for living room and then paid $150 to repair the old one to put in the bedroom though first one was a launch system so it was originally priced at $699 so we will use that price.
One-Time Repair Cost: $150 (not if my kids didn’t break it it would continue running strong)
Playstation Network Monthly/Yearly Cost: $0
so total is $850 man thats expensive oh wait we forgot to do calculations on the XBox 360
XBox 360 = $399.99
Repair during first year $0
Repair after first year for Non-3 Read Light Issues: $120 x 8 = Yes I have had to send in my console over 8 times to get fixed… I know tons of others that have sent theirs in more. Luckily only one of them have only had to pay anything cause 98% of them are within 3 years and have the ring of death issues so they never had to pay anything….
XBox Live $60/yr
So XBox 360 total: $1,359.99 + the $60/yr for Live and nobody knows how many more times gonna have to send this hunk of junk in…
Actually not gonna send anymore next time it breaks think I am gonna try to get ALL my money back under the Lemon Law cause this is BS… hey Microsoft why does everything you make suck.. Windows crashes all the time. So switched to Macs and couldn’t be any happier… And XBox 360 and about to just stink with the PS3 and Wii….
HEY MICROCRAP GO TO HELL WHERE YOU BELONG!!!!

The day we’ve been waiting for is here! And this is just the beginning…
Today we announced that PlayStation Home will enter into open beta, and will be available to everyone tomorrow. This milestone represents the very beginning of a long journey together, as PlayStation Home is an ever evolving, always changing, organic experience — full of new friends to meet, new events to enjoy, and new content to explore.
If this will be your first time in PlayStation Home, be sure to talk to folks that have been around for a while, as they can show you the ropes. We also have a tutorial built in that will get you started with the controls, as well as help menus for you to reference in the Menu Pad. If you don’t have a USB keyboard or Bluetooth headset paired with your PlayStation 3, now is the time to do so – either option will allow you to easily talk and meet everyone.
One of the first things that you’ll notice that there are always things going on – parties, tournaments, events – some of which will be announced, and some of which that will just happen. You’ve got to be there to be a part of the party, so make sure to log in often to see what is going on.
If you want to know what’s coming up, check out the PlayStation Home forums, as we will be announcing events, tournaments, content updates, and feature revisions there, and by actively participating, you will be the first to know. You’ll also find that the PlayStation Home forums are alive with conversation from the PlayStation Home community discussing everything from feature requests to new clubs to join.
Many of you will have already seen the news regarding participation in PlayStation Home from your favorite game publishers and brands, including Activision, Disney, Eidos, Electronic Arts, Lucas Arts, THQ and UBISOFT as well as Sony Pictures, Paramount, Red Bull, Ligne Roset, and Diesel. As you can imagine, with this many partners already on board, PlayStation Home will grow rapidly, so you’ll need to check back often to see what is new. We’ll do our best to keep you informed on what is going on, but with so much happening in PlayStation Home, there will always be new surprises and secrets to discover. If we simply told you about everything, then it just wouldn’t be as fun for you to discover…
For those of you that have been in PlayStation Home for a while, I wanted to take a moment to discuss something very cool that you will notice right away. Once you get in, you’ll see that a redesigned Central Plaza is there to greet you – we’ve made major upgrades as a result of your community feedback. Thank you!
First of all, the Central Plaza now features a new 4 player mini-game called “Saucer Pop,” where each player launches a flying saucer from a take-off pad and flies around popping bubbles. These bubbles contain stars that have points attached, but watch out for the bubbles with bombs which will take you out if you’re not careful. You also must keep an eye on your saucer’s fuel gauge and collect bubbles with fuel cells or else you will quickly meet a watery fate. Success is all about the high scores, so good luck out there! I’ve been playing for a while now while we’ve been developing the game, so I’m getting pretty good…for those of you that know me, prepare to pop!
Secondly, you will also see some changes to Listen@Home. Now, you’ll be able to select from a number of songs and vote on your favorites. Which ever song gets the most votes plays for everyone, so be sure to get your voice heard and get down on the dance floor.
I could go on and on about all the cool new things you are going see and find in PlayStation Home, both on day one of open beta and beyond. The important thing to remember is that PlayStation Home will continue to evolve and change overtime, so be sure to get in often so you don’t miss out…
See you in PlayStation Home.

Hey everyone, we wanted to provide an update on the new Peripherals we are launching this holiday. First, the Wireless Keypad for the PS3 will be available in stores starting the first week of December. Fans excited about PlayStation Home should definitely consider picking one of these up. The Wireless Keypad enables lightning quick chatting with other PlayStation Home community members. Plus, the unique touch pad mode allows for intuitive Internet browsing on the PS3 browser, and the short cut buttons will come in handy whenever you want to send a message or access your friend’s list from in-game.
Check out this video that we put together to see it in action:
The Wireless Keypad is a Bluetooth device that can be paired with the PS3 and charged seamlessly just by connecting them with a USB cable. You can use it with the PS3 system as well as any other Bluetooth enabled device, such as a smart phone, that has keyboard functionality. Given all these user friendly features, no wonder the Keypad just received a Consumer Electronic Show (CES) Innovation Award. It will be available at retailers for $49.99 (MSRP).

Second, an AC Adaptor for charging the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller, SIXAXIS wireless controller, Bluetooth Headset and Wireless Keypad will be available for $24.99 (MSRP) starting the second week of December. The AC Adaptor can simultaneously charge two compatible hardware devices that have a USB connector without having to turn the PS3 system on. And, it charges both the PSP-2000 and PSP-3000.

Unlike the PS3 controller charging stations that are available in the market, we wanted to come out with an accessory enabling PS3 users to not only charge their controllers, but also other accessories, such as the new official Bluetooth Headset and Wireless Keypad.

Enjoy

Hello again. It’s been a while, so I’d like to reintroduce myself. I’m Mike Graham, Associate Producer with SCEA Santa Monica Studio. By now a lot of you have seen and commented on the trailers for Killzone 2 coming out of E3, Leipzig and TGS that showcased the single player and multiplayer gameplay in all of its glory. We’re not here to talk about that. Not exactly anyway. The game’s February release is getting closer by the minute, and everyone at Guerrilla and Sony have something they’re really proud of they want to show you. But we can’t just do it here, we want to do it in bigger style than the web can provide.
So. Get your DVR’s ready. Tonight on G4, during X-Play starting at 8pm, we will have the world television premiere of the brand new Killzone 2 Helghan trailer. Yes we know this was already posted to the web a little early, but who wouldn’t want to see it on a much bigger screen with a better sound system? Seriously, it deserves that kind of attention, because it’s just that cool. So tune in, crank it up and enjoy all the explosive goodness. We think you’ll like it.

The Dew Tour recently wrapped up with the PlayStation Pro – the final event of the year for this traveling BMX, FMX, and skate road show.
As the name implies, PlayStation had a big presence; some of the athletes met up at the PlayStation Experience Truck for some Play with the Pros action in MotorStorm – take a look
